The Cordelia Foundation will organise trauma awareness training for social professionals working in the 6th, 8th, 9th and 13th districts of Budapest in September and October 2025.
The aim of the training is for participants to learn about the phenomenon of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), to recognise its symptoms and to know when, where and how to seek help. The training is practice-oriented and helps participants to react competently when encountering traumatised people.
Target group:
Anyone who may come into contact with traumatised people from refugee backgrounds in the course of their work: social workers, family and child welfare workers, teachers, etc.
Agenda:
- PTSD and related concepts
- Types and effects of trauma
- Common symptoms and presentations of PTSD
- Role of individual factors in the development of the disorder
- The concept of resilience
- Other trauma-related mental disorders (e.g. anxiety, depression, dissociation)
The training is delivered by specially trained therapists from the Cordelia Foundation, who have been working with trauma survivors and in multicultural settings for many years.
The trainings will be organised during September-October. Participation is free of charge, but registration is required.
If you work in one of the above districts and would like to participate in the training, please email the Cordelia Foundation’s central address:
