We held a professional conference

On 26 June 2025, the Cordelia Foundation organised a half–day conference on the occasion of the International Day of the Victims of Torture. The aim of the World Day, proclaimed by the United Nations, is to express solidarity with victims of torture, to highlight the importance of rehabilitation and to raise social awareness.

During the event, our staff and invited speakers shared their experiences on the impact of trauma, the challenges of psychological support and the possibilities of recovery. The event was opened by Dr. Lilla Hárdi, Professional Manager of the Cordelia Foundation, who also presented our current FSZA grant programme.

Our presentations covered topics such as:

Children in the shadow of flight (Xenia Volovik).

The psychological challenges of working with traumatised patients (Janka Szőcs)

Women in the army – stories, traumas, power relations (Dr. Melinda Zsolt)

The role of psychological assessment in recovery (Márti Mészáros)

In the final part of the programme, a round table discussion was held with colleagues from Transcarpathia, who spoke about psychosocial care, the processing of military traumas and the practical possibilities of rehabilitation. The discussion was moderated by journalist Domi Milanovich.
