FSZA 2025 – Interim report

This past May, we launched our FSZA2025 project, a dedicated initiative designed to provide mother-tongue psychotherapeutic support for refugees and foreign nationals in need.

For those fleeing conflict or navigating the difficulties of a new country, the ability to express trauma in one’s own language isn’t just a comfort—it is a vital component of the healing process.

Strengthening the Safety Net

Healing doesn’t happen in a vacuum. To ensure that vulnerable individuals can find their way to us, we have spent the last few months focusing on capacity building.

Through our specialized training programs, we have worked with more than 50 colleagues from municipal and partner organizations. By sharing our expertise in trauma-informed care, we have significantly expanded our patient referral network. The result? Those in crisis can now reach Cordelia’s services faster and in greater numbers than ever before.

Our Impact in Numbers

While the stories behind the therapy sessions are complex, the progress we’ve made so far is clear:

  • 70 individuals have already participated in our individual and group therapy sessions.
  • Ongoing Research: We are continuously conducting deep-interview data collection and professional research to better understand the evolving needs of the populations we serve.

Real Support for Real Needs

We see every day that this project is filling a critical gap. It provides a lifeline for people who might otherwise be left without any professional support due to systemic or linguistic barriers.

This essential work is made possible through the generous support of the Budapest Social Public Foundation (Fővárosi Szociális Közalapítvány). Their partnership allows us to ensure that even those in the most vulnerable situations can access the mental health care they deserve.

Together, we are building a more resilient and inclusive community.
